WINTERFEST MEETING
on Sunday, February 12, at 9:05 AM
Meet in the Youth Room for a brief information meeting for all participants and their parents.
February 17-19, 2012
Who:
•All Youth in 6th-12th grades
•Only 60 spots are guaranteed on a first-come, first-served basis
What:
•Inspiring Worship with thousands of other Christ-followers
•Challenging messages & talented artists
•Good times with great friends in a really cool place
•Visit the Winterfest website at www.winterfest.org to get many more details.
When:
•Depart from Grace Chapel on Friday, February 17, at 9:00 AM.
★If you are unable to leave at this earlier time, let Rocky know so you can be included in the late travel group. Time of the later departure has not been determined but will be late afternoon. Space is limited.
★We will stop one time on the way to Gatlinburg to eat lunch. Each person can buy food where we stop or purchase a sandwich meal before we leave that we will provide at that time. The order forms will be available in February.
•Return to Grace Chapel on Sunday, February 19, by 5:30 PM
★There will be a special contribution on Sunday morning to raise funds for mission work in Honduras.

Why:
•We want to guide young people to thrive in their faith in God’s love. This annual event is a great catalyst to personal spiritual growth.
•Getting away for a weekend together with other Christ-following friends is very helpful for keeping us focused on what really matters.
What to Bring:
Bible, Notebook, and Pen
Warm Clothing: Coat, gloves, scarf (It could snow!)
Toiletries
Sleeping Bag & Pillow (some will need to sleep on the floor)
Snacks (keep food costs down by bringing snacks to keep in your room)
Extra money: ~$60.00 for food & snacks (6 Meals)

GCYM Winterfest Guidelines
1.We act in ways that glorify God and love others.
2.No one will be allowed in a room of the opposite gender without adult supervision.
3.We dress in a modest way so that inappropriate attention is not drawn to ourselves.
4.Valuable personal property, including electronic devices, are the responsibility of the owner and should be brought only if necessary. Cameras and cell phones are permitted, but calls will be limited to appropriate times and only for contacting parents.
5.No illegal substances or behaviors will be tolerated.
6.Weapons of any kind, including “toys” (i.e. air soft guns) and souvenirs (i.e. knives, blades, swords, etc.) will be confiscated.
GCYM Disciplinary Action Plan:
Unacceptable Behavior
Any illegal activity, possession/use of drugs, alcohol, or weapons, sexual activity, or relentless disrespect for authority will be cause for immediate dismissal.
In this case, it is the parents’ responsibility to provide a way home for the teen. Participation in future opportunities provided by the GCYM will be discussed with parents, teen, and Youth staff as soon as possible after returning from the Youth event.
3 Strikes (for acting outside the GCYM Guidelines)
1.Verbal Warning (by any GCYM adult)
2.Limited Privileges (must remain with adult)

Registration Details
Emergency Contact Form:
Each person, including adults, must complete a form before we leave. The new 2012 forms will be available after the new year.
Cost:
•$160 - includes Winterfest pass, lodging, and transportation on a charter bus
•Registration closes on Sunday, November 13.
•Winterfest T-shirts will be available to purchase for $13 throughout the weekend at the convention center.
•There is a discount for multiple children from the same family. The first child pays full price, the second child and third child each get $10 off the original cost. (Cost for 2 children from same family=$310; cost for 3 children from same family=$460)
•Write checks to “Grace Chapel”.
•Place the payment in “The Box” in the Youth Room.
•Cost should not keep anyone from attending. Please contact Rocky to learn how scholarship money can be earned or payments can be made.
